Business Website Using Wordpress

Author: James Schramko

Wordpress used only be used for blogs and personal sites, but now it is being used more and more to create business websites - by choosing the right theme.

Easy in-post editor screen

Good businesses Wordpress themes retain the ordinary word editor that anyone can use whether you are a beginner or an expert at website design.

You can use the in-post editor to talk about your products. Because the word editor is in WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) format, it is not necessary to know code.

Multimedia box options

Look for one that includes a multimedia box where you can add photos, rotate the images, display videos or any other code. Your business website can use the multimedia box as you would normally use a showroom. You can use it to feature merchandise, advertise new products, or simply show off all of your products.

You can add a site tracker or other tracking tool in the multimedia box.

Post image and thumbnails

Make sure your Wordpress theme lets you add a thumbnail image that will appear as a sub-heading in your web page. You can highlight your products and services with this tool, and make your website really interesting.

Title and meta tags

Two of the most important enhancements that a good business theme can add to your Wordpress website are the title tag and meta description. Search engines are programmed to display the characters appearing in the title tag and meta description every time a search entry matches these characters in the search results.

In search results the meta tags and title will appear in blue. You can increase traffic to your website and bring your site to the top of search results with wise use of the title and meta description tags offered by a quality Wordpress theme.

Features and teasers

It is also important to have a features option that allows you to display content in a magazine format. This is effective for new product announcements or other important notices about your business.

However, when you decide to show your website?s content as teasers, it?s great to have the option to cut up your articles into small serving sizes and only show the first few lines at the front page so that your viewer will have to click through your site to view the other pages of your article.

Teasers can increase your site?s stickiness but you must first create an interesting first paragraph to lure your internet viewers to read more in the next page/s.
